Rossini’s opinion of Mozart … an Operatoonity Tiny Tale

Someone  asked Gioacchino Rossini who was the greatest musician.

“Beethoven,” came the reply.

“What of Mozart then?”

“Oh, Mozart is not the greatest musician,” Rossini said. “He is the only.”

*Rossini  wrote 39 operas as well as sacred music, and chamber music. He was born in 1792, one year after Mozart died.
